Terms of Service

Last updated 13 October 2026

These terms govern your use of the HULKTUNE portal and the custom ECU tuning files we supply through it. By creating an account, buying credits or submitting a service request you agree to them. If you do not agree, do not use the portal.

1. Who we are

The portal is operated by:

HULKTUNE

2. The service

You upload an original file read from a vehicle's engine or transmission control unit ("ECU") together with the vehicle details. Our tuners modify the file according to the services you select and return a modified file ("tuning file") through the portal. We only supply software files. We do not read, write or install files on vehicles, and we do not inspect or repair vehicles.

The portal is intended for professional tuners, workshops and experienced users who have the tools and knowledge to read and write ECU files safely.

3. Your account

  • You must be at least 18 years old and give accurate, complete details, including your billing and business information.
  • Keep your login details confidential. You are responsible for all activity under your account.
  • We may suspend or close an account that breaches these terms, abuses the service or is used fraudulently.

4. Credits and payment

  • Services are paid for with credits bought in advance in packages. Prices are shown before purchase and exclude VAT, which is added where it applies.
  • The credit cost of a request (selected services plus the chosen time frame) is shown before you submit it and deducted when you do.
  • Credits have no cash value, cannot be transferred to another account and may only be used on the portal.
  • We may change prices and services at any time. Changes do not affect requests already submitted.

5. Service requests and turnaround

  • You must upload an unmodified, complete original read of the ECU and describe the vehicle accurately. Wrong vehicle details or a modified or corrupt read can produce a file that does not work or causes damage.
  • Turnaround times are targets from submission, during our office hours. We aim to meet them but they are not guaranteed.
  • We may decline a request, for example when the file is unsupported, incomplete or already modified, or when the requested work is not possible. Credits for a declined request are returned to your account.

6. Refunds

  • If a tuning file does not work as described, contact us through a support ticket with the details. We will revise the file free of charge. If we cannot fix it, we return the credits for that request to your account.
  • Credits spent on a delivered file are not refunded because you changed your mind, chose the wrong services or gave wrong vehicle details.
  • Unused credits can be refunded to the original payment method within 14 days of purchase on request. After 14 days, unused credits are refunded at our discretion.
  • If you buy as a consumer, you agree that we start supplying digital content as soon as you submit a request, and you acknowledge that you lose your right to cancel for that content once supply has started. This does not affect your other statutory rights.

7. Use of tuning files: off-road and motorsport only

Tuning files change how a vehicle behaves and may change its emissions. They are supplied for off-road, competition and motorsport use only, on private land or closed circuits.

  • You are solely responsible for making sure any vehicle running a tuning file complies with the laws where it is used, including road traffic, type-approval, emissions and roadworthiness rules.
  • Services that disable or remove emissions equipment (for example DPF, EGR, AdBlue/SCR or catalyst functions) are illegal to use on public roads in many countries, including the UK and EU member states. Ordering them confirms that the vehicle will not be used on public roads.
  • You must tell the vehicle owner that the ECU has been modified, and the owner must inform their insurer where required.
  • Modifying an ECU may void the manufacturer's warranty, affect insurance cover and increase wear on the engine, transmission and drivetrain.

8. Your responsibilities when writing files

  • Always keep a backup of the original file and check the vehicle is in good mechanical condition before writing a tuning file.
  • Use suitable, up-to-date tools with a stable power supply, and follow the tool manufacturer's instructions.
  • Checksums are corrected where the read method requires it. You must confirm your tool handles checksums correctly before writing.

9. Licence and intellectual property

Each tuning file is licensed to you for use on the single vehicle identified in the request. You may not resell, share, publish or reverse-engineer tuning files, or use them on other vehicles. The portal, its software and our tuning methods remain our property.

You confirm that you have the right to upload the original files you send us and the owner's permission to modify the vehicle.

10. Liability

  • Tuning files are supplied "as is". Because we have no control over the vehicle, its condition, the tools used or how it is driven, we do not guarantee any particular power, torque or fuel consumption result.
  • To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for damage to vehicles, engines, transmissions or other components, for fines, penalties or failed inspections, or for loss of profit, business or data arising from the use of tuning files.
  • Our total liability for any request is limited to the price of the credits paid for that request.
  • Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or any other liability that cannot be limited by law.

You agree to indemnify us against claims arising from your use of tuning files in breach of these terms or the law.

11. Availability

We aim to keep the portal available but do not guarantee it will be uninterrupted or error-free. We may change, suspend or withdraw parts of it for maintenance or other reasons.

12. Privacy

How we handle your personal data is described in our Privacy Policy.

13. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. The date at the top shows when they last changed. Material changes will be announced in the portal, and continuing to use it after a change means you accept the new terms.

14. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction. If you are a consumer, you also keep the protection of the mandatory laws of the country where you live.

15. Contact

Questions about these terms can be sent through a support ticket in the portal or to the email address in section 1.
